Vlad Kenner
Originally from the beautiful city of Kiev, Ukraine, Vlad Kenner now resides in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his bachelor's degree from Queen's College in 1994 and then went on to study photography at The School of Visual Arts and International Center for Photography.
Regarding his personal work, he says, "Ever since I took my first image of the nude body, I was struck by the intense, almost violent reaction I got from viewers. I reject the popular notion of erotic art as being kind of soft porn. I think the erotic image pushes us against the social and psychological taboos that are hidden deep in our collective unconsciousness. Porn is oblivious to these taboos. Thus the process of creating erotic art is both scary and fascinating at the same time. My goal is not to capture a perfect moment. It’s the moment between moments - the perfect accident -that I’m after."
