Mark Esposito specializes in
creating images of sculptured, awe-inspiring landscapes combined with the
sensual, instinctive allure of the human bodyscape. He is a retired river
and jeep guide living in Moab, Utah. He has lived in this desert for the
past 23 years hiking, climbing, scrambling, crawling, swimming, boating,
4-wheeling... exploring every nook and cranny, grotto, slot, wash, creek,
arroyo, arch, and spire he can find and has truly gone places no man has
gone to before. His work is inspired by and created within this voluptuous
desertscape of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, known as the Colorado
Plateau. Extremes in climatic conditions prevail within this stark, water
starved, water carved rockscape. Yet it breathes a raw, provocative,
sensuous energy that just sends shivers up one's spine. Mark relates that,
"In all my travels I have never experienced a more feminine
environment. A sentient feast of line, form, shape, and texture. However,
the most enchanting and seductive quality in this studio of stone is the
remarkable quality and diversity of light. A light that is oh! so sweet,
soft, and sensual. Incredibly flattering to the human body, its feminine
aura intensifies and animates every feeling, mood, and emotion."
